Our 7 Year Anniversary Party has arrived. It's hard to believe we've been going for this long. It's been quite the journey.
To mark the special occasion we’ve booked a deejay, producer, artist, and music-lover, who has spent the last few decades reinventing both himself and the dance-culture around him.
Matt Edwards aka Radio Slave (Official) has produced and remixed music under a host of different monikers, making marks across the spectrums of house, techno, ambient, and experimental genres.
He runs Rekids (Official), a label that has weathered near closure and aggressive digitization since its inception in 2006, and continually pumps out a catalog of dance-worthy club tracks that are accessible and utilitarian without losing a sense of originality and craftsmanship.
He also uses the label to unlock other aliases like Silent Village (a soundscape/experimental project with Joel Martin), Rekid (the funk-centred, rhythmic side of his persona), Matthew E, a name by which he releases hard-hitting dance-floor candy……and last but not least, as Radioslave, the most prolific of his fractured personalities.
As Radioslave he is responsible for anthemic dance floor tracks like ‘Another Club’, ‘Feel the Same’ and ’Grindhouse’, all of which are released on Rekids.
Whether in his Berlin studio or on tour, Matt Edwards forays into a host of artistic ventures, including making limited edition Japanese toys, collaborating with artists like Nina Kraviz and recently signed Peggy Gou, and developing mixed medium projects using short film and electro-acoustic composition as The Machine.
His impressiveness as a producer and artist is matched by his resume as a deejay, which includes residencies at Ministry of Sound, appearances at top festivals and clubs around the world, and most recently, residencies at Panorama Bar (Berlin) and Rex Club (Paris), where he hosts Rekids parties.
His sets are underpinned by a genuine love of rave-culture and a sense of being a ‘fan’ and music lover before all else. He combines these motivations with over two decades of mixing experience, an expansive range of tastes, and a seemingly endless drive to create, experience, and explore through the language of music.
