Unlike the others, I have decided to write my own biography, using my own words. I like to remind myself of my own achievements and the reason why I have become what I am right now. My name is Tamer Metwali, I come from a very small but beautiful city in Egypt called Al Mansoora, a city that lacks all the knowledge and opportunity resources to be all that I need in order to become a DJ. In 1995 I have decided to attend an exhibition where they had a DJ for entertainment. This was my first time to see a DJ. The way people reacted and engaged with him increased my curiosity level to knowing more and more about what he does. From there, I have decided to reach out to all the possible ways in order to learn more about what a Disc Jockey does.

Two years later, after I have gained all the information I needed to hit the DJ career, I decided to start small and work my way to playing in birthday parties, private parties and weddings, in other words a “Mobile DJ”. Part of my determination, was to reach out to different places, meeting new people, and studying numerous music types, and that was the time I decided to move, not too far away, but to the right place, the United Arab Emirates. I started off as working as a music producer and sound engineer in Multiaction TV production Co. in Al Ain City for 2 years as a full time job and a free lancer DJ in private parties.

In 2009, a friend of mine who works as an events promoter offered me a golden opportunity that was to participate in a city level DJ competition in Al Ain. I won the first runner up, not too bad as a start. The real benefit from this award was the ticket to begin my journey as a professional DJ. I signed my first contract with Intercontinental Hotel Al Ain as a main DJ for the New Year’s Eve celebration in Club Luce. Right away, I signed my first contract as a resident DJ for Moods Bar and Lounge in Rotana Hotel Al Ain, and that was the main reason I built my fans base which led to signing my second contract with Club Zenith in the capital city, a wider market and a new challenge. The true challenge was satisfying the crowd more than moving to the capital city.

After I have proved myself and gained new fans, as we all know, growth is part of life, which is why I have decided to move ahead and sign a contract with Club Cinnabar Hilton Corniche. Now, let’s be honest, I am guessing most of you wouldn’t really think that moving from one club to the other would not be a very big step, especially because both of them are as famous and hold a very strong reputation in the market. I believe in exposure, and that’s what I needed, I needed to know if I have left a strong impact on the crowd, in other words, I needed to know if they are coming to enjoy Tamer’s music or for the place itself. The third biggest step I have taken was working with SAX Club in Le Meridien Hotel. In 2013, I joined Relax @ twelve in Aloft Hotel and launched Club SO-HI with them. This made me join the “liquid pool” award winning party after earning the trust of the hotel management. In the same year I have won the 1^st runner up in the Middle East being nominated as the best DJ in Ahlan and Timeout Magazines in 2014 in Abu Dhabi.

One of my New Year resolutions in 2015 was to become a free lance DJ, which is what I did. Taking such a decision helped me to be able to reach the crowd with my music. It has also made me work in international events such as the Water Sports Championship, Abu Dhabi International Film Festival, Volvo Ocean Race. Some other places which I have played in were Etoils Club in Emirates Palace Hotel, Stills bar in Crowne Plaza Hotel Yas Island, Allure by Cipriani and last but not the least, Club Twelve in Aloft. Now let me give you an idea about my music production. My music production is definitely one of the main reasons my music skills have improved and it has made me become a professional Remixer and this is one of the reasons that made me famous over social media. The remixes I have made were one of my unique signatures that led different DJs to play them in the region. One of the most famous remixes I have made are “Personally” by P-Square, “All Of Me” by John Legend, “They Don’t Really Care” by Micheal Jackson.

My music has been played in famous radio stations such as Nojoom FM in Egypt, MIX FM, KSA FM, STAR FM UAE, and CHOU 1450AM in Canada.
